Education is the backbone of every society in this world. But what matters the most is the quality education – We at ASM considered it imperative to contribute towards improving the quality of education in schools, particularly schools in rural areas and government schools which lack the infrastructure to provide the required basic education to children.
Agastya International Foundation was set up intending to transform and stimulate the reasoning of underprivileged kids and educators by making practical, hands-on science education available to rural government schools through its efforts & techniques that include: “Lab on a bike” and “Techlabike programs. The TechLaBike venture is an inventive effort component containing an Agastya trained educator who accesses schools on a motorbike furnished with a ‘Lab in a Box’ (LIB) and a Internet enabled laptop. The Google Global Impact Award winning TechLaBike is a progressive program that conveys science training and media sessions to the doorstep of the village school. The LIB is an arrangement of 10 topic based boxes covering an assortment of points in science, adjusted to the school educational programs for students of class five to class eight.
The objectives being comparable, ASM recognized Agastya to promote for the cause of education by contributing towards the operating expenses of the Techlabike program. Techlabike contains low-cost teaching aids, experiments and science models that empower hands-on learning in different themes including Heat and Sound, Acid and Bases, Human Anatomy and so forth. The execution of the versatile unit will be assessed quarterly and annually.
Laptops are used to provide additional enrichment namely through simple mouse-based science games, quizzes, language neutral videos and multimedia conferencing. Vibrant and rich learning afforded by hands-on science models blended with Internet Resources present a significant improvement over the normal learning experience of the child. The Agastya instructor travels to a set of 10 schools and engages children in digital literacy and hands-on science experiments.
